A belated thanks to all that came to see us at The Haygate on New Year's Eve. It was a great night for all and we wish everybody reading this a fantastic 2008.
31/12/2007NEW YEAR'S EVE GIG AT THE HAYGATE
30/11/2007Thanks to Ian of Telford Rocks for visited us at The Woodbridge gig on the 23rd November. You can find the band interview that Ian has posted here.
28/11/2007Get yer tickets for New Year's Eve either from The Haygate or Music Bros (Telford or Shrewsbury). There are a limited number available so don't delay or you may miss out!
27/11/2007Thanks to all that came to The Woodbridge on the 23rd November. Twas a cold night with temperatures around zero but still people braved the weather and joined us for a great gig. George, Clive and Keith did really well as they have been so busy lately with opening the new shop in Shrewsbury. I know that they are throwing nearly all of their time behind Music Bros especailly with Christmas just around the corner.
We have been offered another gig there but this will probably be around early spring next year now. A brand new song was played in the encore, "Not Long For This World" which the band have been working on for some time and went down amazingly well. The band are now gearing up for New Year with the gig at The Haygate (see above).
23/11/2007GIG AT THE WOODBRIDGE
09/10/2007Thanks to Dead Kenny for writing a review of The Haygate gig. Don't forget to have a pint on us next gig Ken.
08/10/2007You can buy a ticket for The Woodbridge gig for just £2.50 at Music Bros. It may be a saving of only 50p but remember the venue can only hold so many people and ticket holders will be assured of a place!
05/10/2007The Wooodbridge has been booked for the 23rd November. This will probably be our only gig before New Years Eve. The entry price will be £3 - for that you get one of the best bands in the Universe. The 23rd is a Friday night so we look forward to seeing you there. For any further information, please contact us. For those that don't know, The Woodbridge address is Coalport, Telford, TF2 9NB.
02/10/2007After the successfull concert at the Haygate (see home page) the band are looking to play an intermediate gig before New Year in or around the Telford area. Why the Telford area? Because the recordings are running a tad late and the band can't get new music to venues elsewhere in the country at the moment. However, the feedback from the new songs played at the Haygate have given the band so much enthusiasm that every stops will be pulled to get the recordings completed.
At this moment in time the band have turned their eye to The Woodbridge in Jackfield. Check back for a booking information.
28/09/2007GIG AT THE HAYGATE
11/09/2007Yep, In Like Flynn now have a rhythm guitar player. He/She will be unveiled at the next gig. The band have had a few practices with said player and there are vast improvements in the overall sound. The band needed that extra sonic layer to compliment the new songs that will be performed at the next gig. The band intend to book more gigs running up to Christmas and the New Year to break in the new guitarist.
17/08/2007We are producing a lot of music at the moment and have recorded 12 pre-recording tracks of which we will choose 6 for demo purposes. The tracks are quite varied in style and some will be played for the first time at our next gig which may be bafore 28th Sept (keep an eye on this site).
We are hoping that the tracks will be recorded and mastered before the end of September though this may be a tad optimistic. The reason that we have taken so long with these tracks is because we simply can't get together as often as we did in the old days when Tim lived in Telford. However, the new material is sounding like the dogs bollocks so the wait will definately be worthwhile.
We are also looking at new covers for the next batch of gigs so please contact us if you have any ideas.
31/05/2007The gig for the 15th June at the Haygate has been postponed. The gig fell at a particularly awkward time for all the members of the band, but we will book gigs before the postponed date to hopefully compensate those fans that planned to go.
21/03/2007The band are currently in and out of the studio recording four new tracks. We hope to have the tracks finished by the end of April.
05/03/2007A few more gigs added. The band are currently working on new material plus the recordings that will hopefully be ready for April.
12/02/2007Last Saturday night (10th Feb), the band played The Place, which is Oakengates Theatre. The gig was organised by Telford Rocks, so thanks to Chris Payne who made the gig happen. The band had a really fun night and the turnout was way beyond expectation, especailly considering the severe weather the day before.
There were three other bands on and they were all fantastic (Killa Kangorrillaz, The Space City Cowboys and The House Of Alice). They are all familiar faces on the West Mids scene, so we were humbled to have been able to play alongside them considering the time we've been away.
Please find pictures of the gig on the Gallery page.
08/02/2007The band are currently composing new songs to be recorded in the next month or two. The songs will be available as a taster for the forthcoming album, which will hopefully be released late Spring, early Summer. We had originally intended to release the album earlier, but have decided to record it ourselves with assistance from some friends that are studying sound engineering. We were also due to record a couple of songs before Christmas but unfortunately, becuase of individual work schedules, this didn't happen.
07/02/2007The Fantom Era website is currently being developed. The site will hopefully go live around the time that the demo is completed (in a month or two). Watch this space.
09/01/2007In Like Flynn at myspace has been updated with set lists and photos from the gig at the Haygate.
04/01/2007The band will now be known as Fantom EraPhantom Era. A new site is being designed to replace this one. The band may still be advertised as In Like Flynn in Telford (for a while) so that fans that haven't seen this site still know who we are.
31/12/2006The gig was a massive comeback success. The venue was packed and everybody had a great time. The band announced their new name and played several new songs, New World Lost, Rosa Cassini and Mutation Rate.
